The ASSET innovation initiative, coordinated by Diamyd Medical, hosted a workshop in Stockholm, Sweden, to discuss screening, early diagnosis and monitoring of Type 1 Diabetes. Moderated by Hans Winberg, Secretary General of the Leading Healthcare Foundation, the event brought together patient organizations, medical experts, clinicians, researchers, regulatory authorities, professional associations, and pharmaceutical developers.

With nearly 1,000 children diagnosed annually in Sweden, the workshop underscored the importance and potential as well as the challenges of national screening of Type 1 Diabetes to pave the way for precision prevention in healthcare systems.
